Your Role
As the Communications Manager, you will lead our communications efforts locally and nationally. You will partner with our marketing team, product managers, and external partners to create compelling communications that resonate with our audience. Your responsibility will include the management of press relations, corporate communications, crisis management communications, and community engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that promote and protect the Amazon brand.
- Craft and disseminate press releases, speeches, and other communication materials for internal and external audiences.
- Act as a primary spokesperson for the Columbus office, responding to media inquiries and setting up press engagements.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and public opinion regarding the company, making adjustments to communications strategies as necessary.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual communications plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Engage with community stakeholders to build relationships and enhance our corporate presence within Columbus.
- Lead crisis communications efforts and prepare responses in the event of issues arising that impact our reputation.
- Manage the development of communication content for digital platforms, ensuring a consistent message across all channels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, corporate communications, or public relations.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a proven ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- Experience in crisis communications and a solid understanding of media relations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and partners.
- Knowledge of digital communication strategies and platforms.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
